Minex has a near monopoly in the research and manufacture of speciality alloys and cored wire that is used in the steel, aluminium and metals manufacturing processes and in foundries. Minex customers until 1998 were mainly large Indian steel plants and foundries and Minex was keen on embarking on a large export initiative.
Indiamap Hosting designed in 1999 a corporate presentation for Minex that Minex used to present to their customers at exhibitions and through direct marketing exercises. In 2000 Indiamap Hosting designed and developed the website for Minex that would be the primary means of reaching out to an international customer audience. The success of the website and internet marketing initiative can be seen from the words of the Minex Managing Director who says that the "website has helped us immensely in marketing ourselves internationally and becoming the first point of contact for many purchasers who then build interest in us after reading about us on our website". Minex has been insistent on retaining the same design for the website since 2000 due to its success and appeal to the international audience.

The website was designed to be easy to use and focus on the theme of metal manufacturing in its visual appeal.
